xorg-7 и шрифты

Здраствуйте!
Пересел на xorg-7.0, начались просто дикие проблемы со шрифтами.
В xorg.conf все пути поменял на /usr/share/fonts.
Пробовал Load "freetype", пробовал xfs. Убил столько времени, одному богу известно :(
Ничего не помогает. Иксовые приложения с грехом пополам понимают мой любимый Andale Mono, gtk1,2 приложения также с грехом пополам работают...
Но вот эмуляторы терминалов -- просто смерть для меня. aterm, mrxvt, xterm, multi-aterm -- они как сговорились.
Ни один из них не отображает русский язык ( locale koi8-r ). mrxvt -xft -xftfn Andale\ Mono работает, но опять таки...
Куда же подевался русский язык? Почему все слетело в один момент и нигде нет по этому поводу документации?

Мне не очень то смешно... Понять бы хоть куда копать.
Вдогонку к первому посту -- игрища с xkb options, layout [skip] результата не дали.

Цитируй любое, но я тоже делал по этому мануалу и никаких проблем с фонтами не заметил. Я юзаю KDE. Может у тебя что-то другое? Кстати мне нравится terminus-fonts может у тебя его нет? Хотя и все остальные я установил. И еще xfs устарел и скоро будет выкинут, может его используешь?

Я пробовал все. Фонты, сервера, пересборка system, glibc, сменя локали. Два раза ставил xorg-7, из бэкапа восстанавливая чистый "стенд". Вопрос в том, как заставить эмуляторы терминалов показывать русский язык а не крякозябры. ( mrxvt, aterm )
locale koi8-r, шрифты Mono. Все прописано и в xorg.conf, прописывал и для xfs. Первой строчкой в xorg.conf идут cyrilic. freetype модуль подгружается. Возможно есть какой-то секрет, который я никак не могу найти/нагуглить/выспросить. Сменю локаль на UTF8, возможно вылечится :-(

Извини, упустил из виду сказать тебе, я уже давно на UTF-8 и как-то даже забываю, что бывают другие кодировки. Не забудь в defoult поставить UTF-8.

Правда, не удобно такие длинные посты совать, но это все, что у меня есть и все работает, я пока использую xfs (ну много у меня компов) но скоро уберу, Повторяю у меня KDE-3.5.3.
