[SOLVED] ERROR: mysql failed to start

Получил:

Обратил внимание на:

--datadir=/var/lib/mysql

Переименовал --datadir=/var/lib/mysql в --datadir=/var/lib/mysql_оld

Снова выполнил emerge --config dev-db/mysql
И все отконфигурировалось заново без ошибок.
Сервер запустился, слава Иисусу.
